    Remember Commodore Quantum Link? I was on that service all the time. Great fun times.

    I remember hearing about it. I was a kid then and didn't have my own computer, so I didn't get a whole lot of chance to use stuff like that. My dad always had computers when I was growing up, though he didn't use that one. I remember him using CompuServe, and maybe Prodigy. Sometimes he'd let me browse files for PC games on CompuServe to find a new PC game to download.

    WOW ya I remember Quantum Link, my dad had it and even ran a BBS on a C64. He actually had a 10MB HD that was in a case kinda like the 1541 drive. He ran that for years until he went to a PC and ran PCBoard for ages.

    I must have a few years on ya. There were no 'home' computers until I was in my early 30's. Q-Link was aimed at the Commodore 64 and included Q-links floppy to access it. It was magic at the time. Eventually it was re-done to incluse Atari and Apple's and then they sold out to Compuserve (I believe) and it was gone for me. Thats when I started my first BBS using All American. :-)

    Thats awesome. The 1541 was a floppy drive. I had 3 of them on top of each other until I switched to the Amiga 1000.

    CompuServe was fun, right before I discovered the internet. I worked for
    a software company that had a support forum on CI$, and we got a handful
    of free accounts to use. It was a lot more fun when not paying by the
    minute...

    Novell Netware was all about CI$ - all of the support forums were there
    and they had an email gateway that got people email long before they had
    direct connection to the internet. I got most of my support info those
    days on it.
