Now bridging the two -- I'd like to build a new area in Sync to show the APRS info and messages, even tie into the local weather stations broadcasting. And for licensed radio operators I'd like to give them a way to create and send messages through the board through the iGate. Again not sure how all this will tie together, but that's kindof the fun of it. For now my goal is just to get APRS setup and working using Direwolf.
Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks -- Sam

I just returned some Tidradio H3's.. Was very unhappy with them. What do you think of the H8's?

We took them out on the road, and they only had about a 2 mile max distance on them. I read about the possibility of overcharging them on the dock could damage the components on the inside ( which is what I think I did ). I'd like to
have a set of GMRS radios that I could leave on the dock if I need to and then use them. One of them seemed to hit our local repeater just fine, the other one was very sketchy. ( I bought them as a pair ). But if you really like your
H8's and they hold up well, I may go and purchase a couple of them.
Bluetooth programming and USB-C charging were game changers. I'm sure the $ HT's are better made and have lots of pro's, but for a sub $50 radio the H8 a great HT.
