Would a recurring post like the one above be of interest to anyone?
i just think it would be spammy.
maybe put some fields on the bottom where it counts how many times i say shit and nigger.
I think it would. Maybe not every day, but perhaps once a week?

Spammy, how?

Someone already is/was doing the Lord's work on that front. Far be it
from me to step on their toes.

+1 on once a week, or even once a momth.

and would it be of interest to anybody. do we really want to know what the most active echo is. it's sort of doing something just to do it.

No, not really. I find this sort of thing pointless unless you're thinking of removing non-active groups.
I'm sure some sysops revel in that sort of stuff.
Really, the intent is to point where message activity is, rather
than where it isn't. But sure, as you say, one could also use the
info to help decide whether subs could be removed.
It'll be a monthly post, and with it being the end of the month,
the first "formal" one will posted tonight (if all goes well).
If people don't like it or get fed up with it, I'll stop posting
it.

well you can just make it available for download. you dont have to
offer the service.

Or.. maybe make it available through the FTN file-request
mechanism?

How many people do you think would actually do that? Or even - how many people even know *how* to do that?
What's the big deal about one post per month with some fairly useful
stats?
Yeah, I would not do this any more frequently than weekly. Maybe even monthly, based on the previous 30 days worth of messages.
